Using The Lessons

The GregsGuitar.Com lesson series will show you step-by-step how to play your favorite songs on guitar or bass.

These lessons combine video clips, large tablature, still photos and diagrams to produce a complete picture of the techniques used by guitarists in all styles of popular music.

The videos really tell the story. You should watch both video clips first, then read the directions and/or tablature.

The first page of the lesson gives a short description of the guitar part in the song, and rates the lesson for beginning, intermediate and advanced players.

Navigation Table

The picture below is an example of the navigation table that is at the top of each lesson page.

There is a navigation table at the top of each page

The navigation table lets you move easily from one page to any other page in the lesson. Just click on the number of the page you want to see. Or click on 'Home Page" to return to the main menu page for this CD.

Video Buttons

These buttons activate video clips.

Each Video Button activates a video clip of either the left hand or right hand. When you click on a Video Button, it will automatically open the AVI player on your computer.

Each video clip demonstrates a short section of the song.

Beneath each set of Video Buttons is a short line of tablature, or a chord progression showing the chord names and how long you hold each chord.

I recommend that you watch the video demonstration first, then look at the tabs, chord progressions and diagrams.

MP3 Practice Tracks

These buttons activate video clips.

Some of the lessons include MP3 practice tracks. These tracks can be copied, and stored the same as your other MP3s. You can create audio CDs by using CD ripping software like CDex 130. The Drum Tracks MP3s are very useful in audio CD form.

Next and Back Buttons

The 'Back' and 'Next' Buttons move to adjacent pages.

The 'Next' and 'Back' buttons at the bottom of the page will take you to the next page or to the previous page in the lesson.

Some pages also include a 'Notes' section at the bottom of the page with more detailed descriptions of the parts.
