Using The Lessons

These lessons on this CD-ROM combine video clips, large tablature, still photos, diagrams and Flash animations to produce a complete picture of the techniques used by guitarists in all styles of popular music.

Navigation Table

The picture below is an example of the navigation table that is at the top of each lesson page.

There is a navigation table at the top of each page

The navigation table lets you move easily from one page to any other page within the chapter. Just click on the number of the page you want to see.

Each chapter has it's own page numbers. Each chapter begins with 'Page 1.' Click on the 'Home Page' link to return to the main menu. You can click on the GregsGuitar.Com logo at the top of the chapter pages to connect to the website.

Video Buttons

These buttons activate video clips.

Each Video Button activates a video clip of either the left hand or right hand. When you click on a Video Button, it will automatically open the AVI player on your computer.

Each video clip demonstrates a short section of the song.

Beneath each set of Video Buttons is a short line of tablature, or a chord progression showing the chord names and how long you hold each chord.

The videos really tell the story. I recommend that you watch the video demonstration first, then look at the tabs, chord progressions and diagrams.

Each video is short, usually less than 10 seconds. Use the 'loop' or 'continuous play' function on your computer's media player. Play along with the video as it loops until you are comfortable with the part.

Next and Back Buttons

The 'Back' and 'Next' Buttons move to adjacent pages.

The 'Next' and 'Back' buttons at the bottom of the page will take you to the next page or to the previous page in the lesson.
