Pentatonic Minor Scale Form 1 - Flash Animation - Page 1

See MP3 practice tracks at the bottom of this page.

This Flash animation lesson demonstrates how to play a Form 1 pentatonic scale in the key of 'A' minor. On the next page, you will see an animated diagram. The diagram shows the guitar in the same orientation as if you were watching a video.

The fingerings in these exercises is crucial. Each note in the Flash animations shows a fingering:

  • I= Index
  • M = Middle
  • R = Ring
  • L = Little

Use the fingerings show in the animation.

First, practice with the Flash animation on the next page. This animation shows the ascending (lowest to highest) form of the scale. Then return to this page and practice with the MP3 tracks below. The MP3 tracks include descending (highest to lowest) form of the scale.

Track 1 - Ascending Track 1 - Descending
Track 2 - Ascending Track 2 - Descending
Track 3 - Ascending Track 3 - Descending
Track 4 - Ascending Track 4 - Descending
Track 5 - Ascending Track 5 - Descending
Track 6 - Ascending Track 6 - Descending
Track 7 - Ascending Track 7 - Descending

You will need a Flash Player on your computer. Most computers have a Flash Player installed, but you can get a new Flash Player by going to the Macromedia website. Click Here to go to Macromedia's website for your download of Flash. (You have to go online to use the link.)

The animation will start when you click to the next page.
