Suspended 4 Chords
The first examples look use 'suspended 4th' chords in E, A and D.
The suspended 4 chord is made by altering one note of the major chord or minor chord. You will either add one finger of your left hand, or shift one finger forward to the next highest fret. This depends on the chord shape, and how you choose to finger it.
Below are diagrams of the major and suspended 4th chord shapes. The suspended 4th note is shown in red in each diagram.
