Power Chord Progressions

The next chord progression we will look at is 'E' to 'G.' There are a couple of ways to play this progression with power chords. We'll look at alternate voicings for this combination later.

'E' Power Chord:

'G' Power Chord:

In this example, you have to shift from index on the 7th fret to index on the 3rd fret, a shift of four frets.

The 'E' chord has its root on the 5th (A) string. The 'G' chord has its root on the 6th (lowest) string.

Example 4 - Shift from the 7th fret to the 3rd fret

Alternate between the two power chords in the diagrams above in steady time. Play in time with the videos first, then play in time with the Microsong practice track below.
