Multiple Pick Strokes
Once you are comfortable playing six strokes, leaving two beats for your left hand chord change, play seven strokes. Playing seven strokes over an eight beat pattern leaves you only one beat's time for your left hand chord change.
The timing for the seven stroke pattern looks like this:

Your final goal is to play eight downstrokes over the eight beat pattern.
Your right hand plays in constant time. It doesn't stop for chord changes. You have to make chord changes in the left between beats, so your left-hand shifts have to be very quick.

You should be able to play an eight stroke pattern over all of the practice tracks we covered in this lesson. Once you can play straight-eighths over all of the tracks, you're ready to go on to advanced power chord techniques.
