New Chord - G Major   The two photos to the right show how to mute a string using one of your left-hand fingers. Mute the 5th string with your middle finger. You should feel your middle finger touching the 5th string. But don't press the string down. Don't allow the 5th string to touch the frets.

If you pick the 5th string by itself, you should hear a muted sound, with no ringing note.

These two photos show the chord in open position. We will play it with the capo at the 5th fret.


Video 4 - A Minor 7 to G Major   In open position, these chords are A minor 7 and G major. With the capo at the 5th fret, the chords become D minor 7 and C.

Alternate between these two chord shapes.
