Video Clips

To see a video clip, click on the video links. This will automatically open your default AVI player. In Windows, your default AVI player is usually Windows Media Player.

There are a number of different media players, and they all have options for sizing. Looping the videos full-screen is recommended for viewing the lesson videos.

Learn how to use the options for looping (repeating), and for sizing the videos. This will vary depending on what media player you use.

All of the videos are very short. I recommend that you loop each video, then play along with it for about 10 repetitions, until you are completely comfortable with the part. Stop the loop by clicking the 'stop' button on your media player, or by closing your media player.

MP3 Player

You will need an MP3 player on your computer in order to hear the microsongs (MP3 practice tracks). Microsongs are short play-alongs in MP3 format. Microsongs can be converted to WAV files, and burned to a regular audio CD. You probably already have an MP3 player on your computer. In case you don't, there are many MP3 players available for free on the Internet like RealPlayer.

In Windows, the default MP3 player is usually WinAmp. Windows Media Player can also play MP3s. (You can go into Options to make Windows Media Player your default MP3 player.)

Microsongs - MP3 Practice Tracks

Click on the 'Microsong' buttons to automatically open your default MP3 player. (On some older systems, you may have to open your player manually, but this is rare.)

You will hear a music track with drums, organ and the guitar part shown in the video clip. This lets you practice the part in time with a rhythm track.

Each practice track allows you to practice a very short, repetitive part. Listen to each track before you try to play along. If you lose your place, stop and listen. When you find your place again, join in with the track.
