The purpose of this lesson series is to teach you the basic techniques used to play guitar parts in all popular styles, including rock, blues, country, jazz and related styles. It is designed for beginners. For this first lesson, I assume you've never picked up a guitar before.
You don't have to read tablature or diagrams to understand this lesson. Just watch the videos, and play along.

Tuning the guitar
Tuning your guitar can be difficult, and it takes practice to really learn how to do it. Fortunately, for the first few exercises, tuning isn't that important.
